The series follows Karen Blixen’s return to Denmark after spending 17 years in Kenya. Plagued with untold difficulties, she moves back in with her mother in her childhood home of Rungstedlund. With strong motivation to live out her youthful dream of becoming a writer, she embarks on a stubborn journey at the age of 49, to fulfill her ambition. Although met with resistance, even from family members, she rises above all odds to meet her breakthrough.
The series is produced as a Viaplay Original by Zentropa Productions in collaboration with Belga and Stage Five Films.
